We want to create a space…
- Where people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can connect with the earth, grow food and learn together
- Where together we can learn to keep our environmental footprint small by gardening with ecologically sound, permaculture principles
- Where food security, food education and food advocacy are at the heart of what we do.
- Where fresh food can be shared with both those who tend it and with those in need
What is permaculture?
Short for “permanent culture” or “permanent agriculture,” it refers to the creation of sustainable, self-sufficient, food-producing ecosystems. We will strive to work with nature and garden lightly on the earth.
How will the food be shared?
We aim to create a process where volunteer gardeners can take home a portion of what is grown in our communal beds, while the remainder is donated to the local food bank.
